Franklin Regional knocked off the 2022 WPIAL Class 3A champion just to get into the WPIAL boys soccer semifinals. But sneaking past the school that won it all in 2021 was too great a task for the upstart Panthers. Instead, Aidan Cole scored the only goal Hampton needed 7:17 into the first half and Luke Fiscus added some insurance on a breakaway in the 55th minute as the No. 2 seeded Talbots (17-2-1) pulled out a 2-0 victory Monday against Franklin Regional (12-8-0) at North Allegheny.
