Smart Hustle Agency & Publishing Launches Search for Entrepreneurs & Professionals to Participate in Business-Athlete Challenge

Business News News Room

Lisa C. Williams, Chief #Momentum Officer (CMO) of  Smart Hustle Agency & Publishing, confirmed they have officially launched the search for business athletes to participate in the challenge. The 30-Day Business Athlete Challenge is for CEOs, business owners, entrepreneurs, and any former, current, or forever athletes.  Business-athletes are being challenged to purchase a Social Impact package for their business and a portion of the revenue will allow the publishing company to provide an important book about leadership and racial injustice to athletes.

The upcoming book, #REALTalkRacism – Blow the Whistle: You Have the Power & Influence to Affect Change, Top Athletes who Rose Up Against Racism Share Their Leadership Advice, is for athletes in all sports.

CEO of Vayner sports Gary Vaynerchuk recently said, “History is watching. Let’s suffocate hate.”

Professional athletes from every sport rose up against racism by leveraging their leadership which had an immeasurable impact on a global scale. The books that will be given to student-athletes will inspire them that, they too, can use their platform and influence for good.

“The business athletes that participate in this challenge will join me in a full-court press on racism and I am committed to putting resources and training in the hands of young athletes so they will be empowered to affect change as well,” book publisher Williams said.

Williams was inspired to create this corporate social responsibility challenge after the professional athletes from the top sports teams in the US stood up and went on strike on August 26, 2020, in response to the killing of Breonna Taylor and the police shooting of Jacob Blake. Explaining her motivation, Williams said, “The athletes leveraged their power and it made me realize that young athletes can and need to do the same.”

Williams went on to share, “The NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell, who had offered little support of Mr. Kaepernick after the quarterback began protesting, made a full reversal in August, offering a public apology to him and saying, ‘I wish we had listened earlier, Kap, to what you were kneeling about and what you were trying to bring attention to.’ Colin’s leadership and hard stance paid off!”

This is a timely initiative, as conversations are going to arise about social injustice, activism, and racism.

The publisher’s goal is to give 10,000 books to student-athletes in Minnesota, Milwaukee and Louisville. The book is due to go on pre-sale in August 2021. Once the book is published, 100% of the royalties from the retail sales of the book will be donated by the publisher to a social justice-focused non-profit that they are finalizing now.

About the #REALTalkRacism Beyond an Athlete Book Edition

The Beyond an Athlete Edition book is part of a new book series called #REALTalkRacism, Heal Our Land which is our version of “Chicken Soup for the Soul”. The title of the book is, Blow the Whistle: You Have the Power & Influence to Affect Change, Top Athletes who Rose Up Against Racism Share Their Leadership Advice.

The book aims to inspire, equip and empower young athletes that they too can stand up against racism just as the hundreds of athletes did in 2020 after the deaths of George Floyd and Jacob Blake. The book will feature top athletes from various sports.  The publisher’s goal is to gift as many copies as possible to high school athletes around the country. 100% of the retail royalties of the books will be donated to a non-profit organization that supports black athletes once the book is published. The publishing date slated is to be August 26, 2021.  This date is the historical day when professional athletes took a stand after being fed up with the multiple killings and shooting of unarmed black people – the sit-out after Jacob Blake was shot.
