Bryan Clayton, CEO of GreenPal, the Online Marketplace Connecting Homeowners with Local Lawn Care Professionals, Interviewed on the Influential Entrepreneurs Podcast

Business News News Room

Bryan Clayton discusses his approach to building a business that has been called the “Uber for lawn care” by Entrepreneur magazine and has over 200,000 active users completing thousands of transactions per day.

During the interview, Bryan discusses the extraordinary value proposition he provides clients. They have goals, they may have never run a business, but they need to build up a client base and slowly take care of customers and expand. The app is designed with little pop-ups and little nudges and notifications. Our job is to be there as a little bit of an accountability layer and a little bit of a “coach in your pocket” to get to the next level. The goal may be to get 50 or 100 customers and then hire their first employee.

Bryan explained that “GreenPal enables the homeowner or a renter to hire a lawn mowing service in a matter of minutes. Normally you would have to call these people and figure out their schedule, prices. You would have to leave voicemails or emails. Instead, GreenPal enables you to get quotes quickly, read reviews, and hire a specialist as simple as ordering an Uber. And after the work is done, you will get a picture of the completed lawn. If the result satisfies you, you can hire that person for the rest of the lawn mowing season. So, it’s a great way for homeowners to save time and money. In turn, service providers use the platform to operate their business and grow it!”
