Dick Fosbury, Olympic champion who created a signature high jump technique, dies at 76

Fosbury cleared 7 feet, 4¼ inches in Mexico City to win the gold and set an Olympic record in 1968. By the next Olympics, 28 of the 40 jumpers were using Fosbury’s technique.
