The last few days have been understandably difficult for Evgeni Malkin. During Monday night’s 5-2 loss to the Arizona Coyotes, Malkin memorably mishandled a Kris Letang drop pass that turned into an embarrassing own goal during a delayed Penguins power play. So when he scored the equalizing goal with 42 seconds to go in regulation during Friday night’s 3-2 defeat at the hands of the Arizona Coyotes, Malkin felt some relief from his unfathomable error.
