The Penguins on Monday put themselves on the brink of another disastrous loss. But Sidney Crosby and their resurgent power play yanked them back.
After controlling much of the first two periods, they blew a 3-0 lead. The Minnesota Wild scored early in the third to tie it up. But Crosby buried a power-play goal, their second of the game and sixth in the last four, just 47 seconds later.
Jake Guentzel tried a cross-crease pass that hit the paddle of Filip Gustavsson, whom the Wild started in goal instead of Marc-Andre Fleury. The puck then pinballed toward Crosby. He swept in the loose puck for the go-ahead goal.
The Penguins hung onto that lead to beat the Wild, 4-3, at PPG Paints Arena.
